JUNIOR CAMP LEADER
DESCRIPTION
-
Become a Junior Camp Leader (JCL) and elevate your leadership skills.
-
We are looking for responsible and proactive individuals who are interested in helping us run DISCOVERY Beach Rowing Camps over the summer.
-
You will be responsible for managing camp participants, parents, and other staff (e.g. welcoming participants, taking attendance, communicating with parents, organizing participants in groups, assigning responsibilities to supporting staff....); You will organize, run, and supervise daily camp activities (e.g. equipment set up and clean up, driving the trailer, coaching sculling from an open water single, organizing and running beach activities and games).

Depending on camp enrollment, we will need 1-2 JCL for each camp. A preference will be given to applicants who can commit to a period of 2 or more weeks.

WORKING HOURS

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3pm at Lloyd Beach in Winnetka.

COMPENSATION

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
-
Must be at least 16 years old high school or a collegiate student.

Have at least two years of rowing experience, and is proficient in sculling.

Must be a good swimmer, and be able to swim at least 200 yards and tread water for 10 minutes.

Preference will be given to applicants who worked with us as Camp Leaders in Training or JCL in previous years.
APPLICATION PROCESS​

Fill out and submit the application form preferably by May 1st. You can submit your application after this date but the chances that you will be selected may be reduced.

We will review all applications and will get back to you not later than May 10th.

CAMP LEADER IN TRAINING

We are looking for responsible individuals who are interested in helping us run DISCOVERY Beach Rowing Camps over the summer.

We are looking to enroll 2-3 CLTs per camp. A preference will be given to applicants who can commit to a period of 2 or more weeks.
